Bumps In The Road

So sorry for the long delay in postings. I have had some health issues. Life will be a little different for me from now on. It has taken the last month and a half to get things somewhat under control, and it will take a while longer to fell totally in control.

I have a few new pictures to share and will try to get those posted in the next few days.

I am so very greatful for the life I have, my family, my friends and anyone who extends a kind word or gesture my way. As we move  toward Christmas and a new year, I would like to say "Thank You" for all I have, every past moment good and bad and for every future moment...good and bad.

This is the start of a journal cover.

The butterfly is from a sticker for scrap books.

The flowers are from a napkin. The dress is painted with acrylic paint. A wash of pearl paint was applied to the background before the other embellishments were added.

The metal piece says "dream". This face is also colored with pencils and acrylic paint.

Mixed Media Fabric 1

Left over mixed media piece from the journal.
Mixed media fabric edged in gold and glued to the front of a spiral bound book I made.

Mixed media fabric with two layers of gold ink stamped on top.

There are many ways to make mixed media fabric. You can make it with
a fabric/paper combo or just fabric. You can use a water/glue mixture or a
collage or matte medium. You can add what ever elements you like to your
"MMF". The choice is yours. One of my favorite ways is from a new book by
Rebekah Meier called "Fabric art collage - 40+ Mixed Media Techniques".
Here are a few samples of what I did.

Thanks

Thanks for the nice comments.

I can tell this is going to take a while to get use to. Every time I have sat down to the computer thinking I was going to post, I lost my nerve, and put it off for another day. I have sat here over the last several days wondering if what I have to share has any relavance. Well... thank God for friends and family! They always seem to know what to say and when to say it. It is not about "relavance". It is about having fun , going with the flow and seeing where this will lead. So lighten up ROCHELLE.
